Posture, poise and balance

We each have an in-built system of postural support which is designed to keep us upright and balanced with the minimum of muscular strain.

Most of us don’t utilise this natural support - so we veer between trying to hold ourselves up with excessive muscle tension and then slumping when our muscles tire.

Over time, the Technique resolves the problem by re-distributing our muscular tone into a more healthy balance. Through gentle hands on guidance, excessive muscular tension in the more superficial musculature is reduced so that our deeper postural support system is activated.

Our spine lengthens and decompresses and supports us as it’s designed to.

Increased mobility & flexibility

Excessive muscular tension can restrict movement and lead to discomfort, stiffness, and limited mobility.

The Technique encourages the letting go of harmful habits of muscle tension allowing muscles to work more efficiently and joints to move more freely.

By reducing unnecessary muscle tension, increased ease of movement, enhanced flexibility, and a greater range of motion can be achieved.

Stress and anxiety, breathing

The Technique offers valuable tools to help manage stress and anxiety, and to understand how the tensions of the life affect your body.

It calms the nervous system and unwelcome stress reactions diminish. Our body can return to a quieter state and we can experience a greater sense of calm, presence and vitality.

Stresses can lead to shallow, inefficient breathing patterns. The Technique places a strong emphasis on breath awareness, helping you to rediscover your natural, unrestricted breathing.
